These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Idea Bucket ("Idea Bucket", "we", "us") for using ideabucket.app, the Mac app, the public demo, the docs and the connector for AI assistants (together, the "service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you use Idea Bucket for an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you're allowed to.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 (or 13 where your country's law allows a lower age) and able to form a binding contract.
- Sign-in uses an email link or Google. Keep access to your email and Google account secure; you're responsible for what happens under your account, including through access keys and assistants you connect.
- Tell us at support@ideabucket.app if you think your account has been misused.
Your content
- It's yours. You keep all rights to the ideas, notes, tags and files you put into Idea Bucket.
- Our licence to run the service. You give us a limited licence to store, copy, process, index and display your content only to provide the service to you: syncing it, searching it, sending it to the AI features you use, sharing it with members of tags you share, and sending it to the integrations you set up.
- Shared tags. Ideas you tag with a shared tag are visible to that tag's members. Only share with people you trust.
- You're responsible for your content. Make sure you have the right to store and share it, and that it doesn't break the law or anyone's rights.
Acceptable use
Don't use the service to:
- break the law, infringe others' rights, or store or share content that's illegal, abusive or harassing;
- send spam, including through shared-tag invites or webhooks;
- attack, probe, overload or work around the limits or security of the service (for example scraping, automated sign-ups or bypassing rate limits);
- access another person's data without permission;
- resell or offer the service as your own without our written agreement.
We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these rules, ideally after a warning unless the issue is serious or urgent.
AI features
Search by meaning, Ask, dictation, sparks, AI notes, Jira write-ups and tag summaries use AI models (currently Google Gemini). AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important before you rely on it. You're responsible for how you use AI output, including issues and pull requests created by automations and agents you connect.
Integrations
Google Calendar, Jira, Grok Bot, webhooks and AI assistants are third-party services you choose to connect. Their terms apply to them, and what's sent to them stays under their control. You can disconnect them at any time.
Plans, billing and refunds
- Free is free, with the limits listed on Plans & billing. Limits may change; we'll give notice of meaningful reductions.
- Pro and Team are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance (Team per seat). Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy or Paddle, who sells the subscription to you and handles payment, invoices and sales tax under their own terms.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings → Plan & billing → Manage billing; you keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for.
- Refunds are handled by the merchant of record under its refund policy and the consumer law that applies to you. If you're not happy with a paid plan, contact us within 14 days of your first payment and we'll ask the merchant of record to refund it.
- If a payment fails, we may move your account to the Free plan after a short grace period. Your content isn't deleted.
- Prices may change. We'll tell you in advance, and changes apply from your next billing period.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Idea Bucket available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We may change, add or remove features. If we discontinue the service, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Keep your own copies of anything critical: Settings → Account → Export my ideas downloads everything.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Idea Bucket and delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We may end or suspend your access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or if the law requires it. When your account is deleted, your content is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
Governing law
We'll try to resolve any dispute informally first: email support@ideabucket.app. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer law of the country where you live, including the right to bring a claim there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For meaningful changes we'll update the date above and tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can delete your account.
